Dynamics of population expenditures

Per capita spending is growing at an accelerating pace: + 3.7% per year in 2015, + 8.7% in 2016 and already + 10.7% in 2017 (up to 555.8 thousand tenge) .

Most of the costs are borne by residents of Almaty (846.2 thousand tenge, + 9.5% per year). The highest growth rates are in East Kazakhstan (+ 17% per year, up to 628.2 thousand tenge).

The only region where expenses in 2017 decreased – Mangistau Oblast (minus 1.1% per year, to 488.3 thousand tenge).

The largest item of expenditure is consumer (92.6% in 2017, 92.8% in 2016). The share of food spending rose from 45.8% in 2016 to 46.6% in 2017. Non-food items in expenses decreased: 24.7%, against 25.2% a year ago, as well as services: 21.3%, against 21.8% in 2016.

It is noteworthy that the weight of expenses for the repayment of the loan and the debt has grown – already 3.9%, against 3.6% a year earlier.
